Fringe World: Fuego Carnal foot archer Orissa Kelly has ‘priceless’ bow stolen from Fremantle

Orissa Kelly’s worst nightmare came true after she landed in Perth at the weekend. The internationally renowned foot archer is the headline act for Fringe World smash Fuego Carnal. Her routine, which she has performed for the Queen and on Britain’s Got Talent, involves contorting into acrobatic shapes then sending a flaming arrow into a target with her feet. However, the act is now in jeopardy after Kelly’s suitcase containing her priceless bows, costumes and other apparatus was stolen from her car in Fremantle on Sunday. She had only flown into Perth the day before ahead of rehearsals with the Fuego Carnal cast. Kelly is heartbroken at the loss, considering she has had the bows since she began her career five years ago. “They are worth nothing to everyone else, but they are worth everything to me,” she told The West Australian. “Everything was custom-made. My bow even had my name engraved. No one is even going to be able to use these as a normal bow and arrow, unless they want to learn to use them with their feet.” Kelly, who lives in Cape Town, said Australia was the last place in the world she thought she would be robbed. She has been scouring skip bins and pawn shops in the hope her favourite bow, nicknamed “Bae”, will show up. Failing that, she plans to visit archery stores to look for parts and may have to courier equipment from Britain. “I would love to say that I will get things in time for the start of the show on Friday, but I am not sure,” Kelly said. Kelly is willing to offer a reward for the safe return of her items and has urged anyone with information to contact her on social media. “I feel like the little child who has lost their favourite teddy,” she said. “This person who has taken it, they are going to realise that it’s worthless to them so they may as well give it back. “There will be no questions asked and it won’t be taken any further. I just want my stuff back so I can do what I love and bring joy to others.”
