Home and Away: Budget McDreamy at the top of the highly contested leader board for worst bloke in Summer Bay

I’ve been robbed of my first Home and Away wedding, and I’m not taking it lightly.

Every time Christian aka Budget McDreamy dismisses the wedding – forgetting to pick up his suit again or saving new arrival Rachel who fell from the sky – I know we’re edging closer to the whole thing being called off.

I’ve been watching nearly every night for a year and I’m yet to see a natural disaster or a bomb obliterate the town, but I was very much looking forward to ticking a wedding off the bucket list. And the producers did promise a wedding this year.

It’s not called off quite yet, but BM who looms over his patient’s body like Frankenstein creating his masterpiece, is keen to see Rachel through her recovery to appease his ego.

I’m not doctor – although I have watched a lot of Grey’s Anatomy and now New Amsterdam which I don’t like as much because Max has a hero complex – but since Rachel’s skull isn’t attached to her spine, she’s going to be recovering for quite some time.

“It would be hard for me to make any promises,” Christian says to his bride about leaving for their wedding.

To say Tori is less than impressed is an understatement, but she’s a single mother and the dating pool in Summer Bay is basically non-existent so she’s hanging onto him for a bit longer.

Meanwhile Justin is another character of the male variety not making a great case for themselves.

He’s having second thoughts (or so he says) about flying to the wedding – that I’ve been robbed of – because it’s just deigned on him that he can’t take kilos of prescription drugs on the plane without a letter from the doctor.

Justin has just made up something about feeling really great again and wants to drive the many hours to Victoria for the wedding when Budget McDreamy comes home after pulling an all-nighter at the hospital and chooses his patient over his bride.

It’s a very poor move and puts BM at the top of the highly contested leader board for worst bloke in Summer Bay.

Tori breaks down in tears but strangely, Justin is more distressed than his sister who has practically been jilted at the altar and he proceeds to smash plates and steals the limelight.

For the rest of the day Leah pretends her deadbeat boyfriend doesn’t exist, until she finds his giant stash of drugs and demands answers.

Tori retreats to the jetty to think.

“I know that none of this has been easy on you and I’m really sorry,” BM says.

But sorry doesn’t cut it this time.

He thinks he was put on this earth to help Rachel and “that’s why I need to see this through”.

He grabs Tori’s arms and asks (he should be begging) for “more time” and then skurries back to the hospital to check on Rachel.

I’m probably just reading into it too much but I kind of get the feeling that they know each other. Or it could just my misinterpreatiton of what’s meant to be flirting.

Although he does seem a bit old for her,so maybe daughter? He did mention having two grown up kids once.

Finally there’s Ryder and Chloe v Mac, but it’s so immature I’m not going to give it much attention.

Basically Ryder gets a lesson from Grumps in being a decent human and blurts out “there was no rat” and will pay for the damage Chloe’s big mouth caused.

But this on top of the various stresses in life is wreaking havoc on Alf who might be about to heave a heart attack.
