Dulux has released its colour forecast for autumn-winter 2017.

The new-season palette, dubbed Sentience, showcases the shades that Dulux predicts will dominate interiors’ trends in the coming season: soft, muted hues, textured finishes and the colour-of-the-moment, greige.

Dulux colour expert Andrea Lucena-Orr says key colours include Dulux Parchment Paper, Beige Mystery and Pinkham, as well as suede-finish paints such as Dulux Suede Effect in Eco Chic, which she says add an extra dimension to a colour palette.

Ms Lucena-Orr says this palette is particularly suited to use in nurseries.

“Any of these colours would look beautiful in either a boy’s or girl’s nursery as they are the epitome of gender neutral,” she says. “We’re seeing soft colours used more often in children’s spaces now.

“It’s less about traditional colours such as pinks and blues and these autumn hues are perfect if you’re painting before you know your baby’s gender.”
