STM Loves: Nagula Jarndu, Emma Lewisham’s Sunceutical, Zypher Lounge and Festa Della Pasta at Stampa!

Nagula Jarndu This group of 120 Indigenous women make distinctive handcrafted textiles inspired by the Broome landscape, including this beautiful kimono that depicts artist Marie Manado’s family and ancestors gathering on their Nimanburr Country. Nagula Jarndu, which means saltwater woman in Yawuru and encompasses an arts centre, also sells clothing, fabric, jewellery, homeware and more. The products, which feature advanced skincare benefits, were eight years in the making and include a body ($72) and face ($79) creme. Sunceutical will launch on December 26, details at emmalewisham.com Zypher Lounge The speakeasy-style Volstead Lounge on Murray Street has had a makeover, emerging as this Japanese fusion lounge that morphs from sophisticated dining room to late-night dance floor as the evening progresses. Zypher Lounge opened last week with a menu of fusion dishes ranging from sashimi platters to wagyu carpaccio pizza (Seoul-raised chef Evan Bang spent seven years at Nobu Perth before opening Kukan Izakaya in Northbridge). Food is available until its midnight closing time and the cocktail menu is divided into sections inspired by four of Tokyo’s vibrant districts. It’s open from 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 3pm on Friday and Saturday, when there will also be DJs playing from 9pm. Festa Della Pasta How much pasta is too much pasta? Now’s your chance to find out, as Stampa! launches its Festa Della Pasta, featuring 90 minutes of bottomless handmade pasta and free-flowing drinks for $89 per person. The feast starts with an entree of pecorino souffle and prosciutto coccoli, then there is a trio of pastas: penne all’arrabbiata, gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle oil and tagliatelle with sausage ragu.
