Revis Leon Comeagain: Karratha man accused of West Leederville rampage incoherent in court, denied bail

A man at the centre of an armed stand-off with police after allegedly terrorising residents and motorists in West Leederville has been denied bail while ranting incoherently in court. Police were called to the leafy inner suburb about 6.15pm on Tuesday after Revis Leon Comeagain allegedly threatened motorists on Furniss Lane and hurled various items at their cars. They say the 39-year-old Karratha man then threw a brick at a passing car on Cambridge Street, smashing the windscreen and causing the driver to stop on Kimberley Street. Police say he threatened the driver while trying to get him out of the car then allegedly threatened two male residents walking on Kimberley Street with a knife and a wooden beam, demanding their keys. After the two men ran away, Mr Comeagain then allegedly went to the carport area of a Woolwich Street home, brandishing two knives. The area was cordoned off and according to resident Annette Hasluck, tactical response group officers descended. A negotiator was sent to speak with Mr Comeagain, who was finally apprehended about 8.50pm and taken into custody, then assessed in hospital. Appearing behind a barrier and flanked by guards in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Mr Comeagain repeatedly interrupted Magistrate Andrew Matthews as he attempted to read out the six charges. Mr Matthews said they were very serious, involving “waving around” two 19cm bread knives and a 1.2m wooden beam. He said his priority was protecting the community but Mr Comeagain interjected, saying “I don’t think so”, that he wanted to go home and suffered in custody. He swore, made retching noises and said “Well, that’s not going to work” when told he was being remanded in custody to seek legal advice. Mr Comeagain will appear in the same court via videolink on October 9. He is charged with one count each of stealing going armed to cause fear, criminal damage, aggravated armed assault with intent to rob and two counts armed assault with intent to rob.
