North West Coastal Highway: Two dead after motorcycle and ute crash near Roebourne causing road closure

Police have confirmed two people riding a motorcycle died in a crash on the North West Coastal Highway on Sunday morning. A 30km stretch of road from Karratha Industrial Estate to Roebourne has been closed in both directions since about 6am following the accident. A police media spokesperson said a ute and a motorcycle collided near Cleaverville Road in Roeburne. The motorcyclist and their passenger who was riding pillion died at the scene, while the driver of the ute was not injured. Major Crash officers are travelling to the area and were due to arrive this afternoon. On a post to Facebook, the Pilbara District police advised drivers to avoid the area and find an alternative route if possible.
