Chloe Zorzi picked-up right from where she left off before the Christmas break last Friday night with another big offensive haul that sparked Saints’ win, 79-48, over CBC in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Basketball Association’s women’s first division.

Zorzi racked-up a game-high 29 points and was ably backed by Sarah Tagliaferri (16), Alex Clinch-Hoycard (15) and Tegan Alabach (11) as Saints grabbed a fifth win and edged within a game of first-placed Olympians.

CBC were within three points of their rivals at half-time, but were blitzed in the remaining two quarters, 47-19.

Millie James contributed 11 points against the odds, but she was the lone CBC player to score in double-digits.

Zorzi’s offensive dominance in eight games has yielded a competition-best 186 points – well clear of teammate Elena Scafidi (129 points) and Olympians’ Kate Sidebottom (122).

CBC remain at the foot of the three-team standings, without a win in seven games.

Olympians, who had the bye last weekend, make their first appearance of the new year this Friday night against CBC at 6.15pm.

Women’s division two fixtures resume on January 31 and in division three, on January 27.
