Saturday Lotto: Winner of division one prize comes forward to claim more than $1m

While the eager search is still on for Saturday’s WA Lotto winner, another local has come forward with their golden ticket to take home more than $1 million.

The winner — who played in Saturday’s draw two weeks ago — has stepped up to claim his eye-watering prize of $1.2 million.

The man from Perth’s north purchased his ticket at the Lucky Charm Gwelup and said he was in a state of shock after receiving the news.

“I just about collapsed,” he said.

“I have a small container where I put my winnings, but after this win, I think I’m going to need a bigger container.”

While the man celebrates his huge win, another lucky WA punter who purchased a ticket now worth a whopping $401,209 is yet to come forward.

Lotterywest is urging anyone who purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket from Capel Newsagency to check if they have the winning numbers.

In the September 28 draw, a Mandurah man initially thought he was bound for a scolding when he was taken into the back room of his local newsagency.

The man’s fears were quickly turned into joy as he was told he was the new owner of $518,364.

West Aussies have been bathed in Lotto luck this year, with 10 division one winners in just the past month.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said he was excited to see big wins for the State.

“Most of these 10 wins have come from Saturday Lotto, but we have also celebrated two Set for Life wins, along with a Millionaire Medley winner,” he said.

“Our Winner’s Room has been quite full the past month, which has been fantastic to see.”

The winning numbers for the October 5 Saturday draw are 13, 30, 18, 24, 27 and 15, while the supplementary numbers are 41 and 26.

West Aussies have another chance to test their luck in Monday night’s Millionaire Medley draw where players can win up to $1 million.
