A man remains fighting for life after he was shot in an aggravated home invasion in Melbourne’s southeast, with six people now arrested over the shooting.

The 36-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in Frankston North on Monday night.

Police have alleged he was shot during an altercation with a group at an Armata Crescent address about 7.20pm.

The Dandenong man was taken to hospital, where he remains with life-threatening-injuries as of Wednesday afternoon.

A crime scene was established on Monday night with the area cordoned off.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man, 26-year-old woman, 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman at a Carrum Downs address on Wednesday afternoon.

A 21-year-old Burwood East man was also arrested on Tuesday at Burwood East shopping centre.

He was charged with intentionally causing serious injury and aggravated home invasion after he was interviewed by police.

He was remanded in custody and is set to front Melbourne Magistrates Court on March 5 next year.

A 23-year-old woman was also arrested at her Mornington home on Wednesday morning.

She’s been charged with aggravated home invasion, affray and three counts of common law assault.

She is set to front Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday evening.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are appealing for witnesses, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
