Brendan James Walker: Wagin man refused bail after police say he was found naked in Narrogin Coles carpark

A Wagin man who was allegedly exhibiting “bizarre behaviour” has been denied bail after a court was told he ran around a supermarket carpark completely naked in view of children before wandering “in a disorderly manner” through a pharmacy. Brendan James Walker appeared in Albany Magistrates Court via videolink from Narrogin Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he was in custody charged with disorderly behaviour in public and possessing a glass smoking pipe that contained traces of methamphetamine. Police prosecutor Sgt Natalie Parkyn told the court several members of the public alerted police on Thursday morning when Mr Walker began undressing and running around the Narrogin Coles carpark naked. Police were unable to find the 43-year-old until they received another call that placed him a few streets away at Amcal Pharmacy, where he had dumped his belongings at the front door before police say he wandered through the store “in a disorderly manner”. He was arrested and police say they found a glass pipe containing traces of meth in his shorts. Police opposed bail due to Mr Walker’s “bizarre behaviour presentation”, his high risk of reoffending and lack of fixed address. Sgt. Parkyn said Mr Walker had received a move-on notice from Wagin the day before and was currently non-compliant on several intensive supervision and community-based orders. Magistrate Erin O’Donnell refused Mr Walker’s bail.
