Allstars go down in Flames

It was an action-packed night at the Karratha Leisureplex last Thursday as round 19 of the Karratha Basketball Association saw the Flames Youth obliterate Northern Spirit Allstars in a one-sided affair.

The Flames were on fire in the first half, slicing up the Northern Spirit Allstars with ease as they piled on the nets to take a 12-4 lead at half time.

The second half saw the Flames continue to apply the heat, breaking down the Allstars’ offence to cruise to a 39-12 final score and secure top spot on the ladder.

Ky Hayes was the stand-out shooter for the Flames with nine points, including two three-pointers. Adam Pau also racked up nine points, while Jedd White put up eight points as well.

For the Allstars’ Shuayb, Mohamed and Nathan Hall top-scored with four goals each.

In the other division one game, Mayuga Majik were able to sneak past the Coral Trouts to steal the win 39-37 in a see-sawing match.

In division two, the Northern Spirit Balaboyz held off the Vipers in a hard-fought contest, to take the victory 30-28.

The Thirsty Trouts and Flames Black battled it out in an even contest over the 40 minutes, with the Trouts able to down the Flames by one point, 27-26. In the division three games, the Redbacks downed the Flames Orange by three points 23-20, while the Wickham Wildcats Blue dominated the Mighty Ducks 38-22, and the Taipans V2 overwhelmed the Brook Trouts 33-19.

In the women’s division one, the Flying Trouts soared over the Cyclones Development with a massive 38 point victory, 52-14.

The Flames Black-Women scorched the Northern Spirit Lynx in a one-sided match, cruising home with a 20 point win 46-26.
