Beeramundi wins best Pilbara boat name
Best boat
There are high stakes in the Pilbara when it comes to naming your boat. With such illustrious names as Maggot, Aquaholic and Rude (written with a paintbrush it seems), you need to think outside the box to stand out.
Last week, the Pilbara News polled its online audience to decide the best boat name in the Pilbara.
We threw five names out there and it was Beeramundi which came up trumps.
Beeramundi (155 votes) won over Here Fishy Fishy (101), Angry Ranga (63) and F*** Bananas (46). Popular names thrown out there included Mootstank Sally, Blue Balls, Black Thong, The Wench, Far Canal and Deep Penetration.
The sheer number of unique boat names shows two things: most of the Pilbara’s collective mind power goes towards naming boats; and judging by most of these names, we all have our minds in the gutter.
Chook cam
WA continues to find new ways to honour its national drink, the bush chook, and the Pilbara is all for it.
The latest doff of the cap is on Instagram, where a page dedicated to photographing red cans has started up.
Bushchook_photog has, in the past few weeks, posted pictures of tin chickens at the beach, with Bon Scott, and around various landmarks.
We are waiting on a road trip to see what adventures the humble red can and its photographer will get up to.
