Master Builders Awards regional judge for the Kimberley-Pilbara, Charlie Baggetta, described the Karratha Quarter development’s design, innovation, energy efficiency and vision as exceptional.

“All elements of the project — the landscaping, pedestrian walkways, water features and artwork on the facade — makes for a very striking building,” he said.

“This, along with the exceptional workmanship, made the project a stand-out winner.”

Mr Baggetta said it was great to see regional towns build and embrace mixed-use buildings, which helped contribute to their economic and social development.

The Quarter will now be in the running for the title of 2017 best project at the Statewide 2017 Master Builders Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards.

Doric also won an award for excellence in recycling and excellence in energy efficiency.
