Four men arrested in drug sting
Karratha Detectives have charged four men with drug-related offences following an operation targeting drug dealing in the West region.
The operation began in February and resulted in the seizure of methylamphetamine, cannabis, and other drugs from a number of vehicle stops and search warrants.
As part of the operation, at about 3:50 pm on Monday, March 30, detectives stopped a black Holden Commodore at a roadhouse on the North West Coastal Highway in Mardie.
Police allege that upon searching the vehicle detectives located 84 grams hidden behind panelling.
A 56-year-old man from Pegs Creek faces 11 charges including; one charge of possessing a prohibited drug methylamphetamine, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug cannabis, and two counts of unlawfully possessed a controlled or prescription drug.
The man was also charged with conspiring to possess methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply, two counts of possessed any drug paraphernalia in or on which there was a prohibited drug or plant, and one charge of offer to sell/supply a prohibited drug to another methylamphetamine.
He is due to appear in the Karratha Magistrates Court on May 13.
Police also charged a 42-year-old man from Bulgarra with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply methylamphetamine, and possession of a prohibited drug, he will appear in the Karratha Magistrates Court on May 27.
A 29-year-old man from Nickol has been charged with conspired to possess methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and will appear before the Karratha Magistrates Court on April 29.
A 50-year-old man from Baynton has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply methylamphetamine, he next appears in the Karratha Magistrates Court on May 27.
The operation is ongoing.
