Foursome bring best to Karratha bowls carnival

The awesome foursome of Anthony Monson, Brad Lynch, Katie Fannetti and Steve Gaffney have won Karratha Bowls Club’s annual carnival.

A field of 14 teams competed in the event on the last weekend of June, vying for $10,000 in prize money. Club president Graeme Wilkes said the event ran well, despite numbers being down because of camping restrictions.

“Many thanks to our volunteers,” he said. “The ladies from the Autumn Club were fantastic cooking breakfast all weekend, as well as serving lunch and our traditional Sunday roast.

“Our carnival attracted bowlers from as far as Far North Queensland and Derby to the north and Albany to the south.”

Wilkes said all teams played well and had fun at the event.
