Grab a unique gift for Christmas
The four Roebourne Aboriginal art groups will be collaborating for the second year in a row to hold a Christmas art sale in Karratha.
Juluwarlu, Cheeditha, Wangaba Roebourne and Yinjaa-Barni art groups will have their pieces for sale at the Quarter HQ on Saturday for shoppers hoping to snap up a unique Christmas gift.
The event is held with support from Woodside, the City of Karratha and the Pilbara Development Commission.
Yinjaa-Barni Art chair Allery Sandy said she was looking forward to the event and seeing the work from the other groups.
“I’m looking forward to it this year again and just being there, meeting new faces and having the other art groups alongside. We tried to put some new stuff in. We’ve got a clothing range as well,” she said.
“It’s something that we love, just to put our artwork for sale and just be there, mingle with everyone, let everyone know that we are the artists so they can see us ...what we look like.
“I think it’s very important just to get a few dollars for our Christmas gifts for our families and a little bit of support for us as the year rolls along.”
Ms Sandy said last year’s event was a success and hopes this year will be too.
