For the first time the founder of a mental health organisation that aims to build better awareness in the Australian mining industry through advocacy, education and community building will be visiting Karratha for a community sundowner.

Lachie Samuel, known as the FIFO Mental Health Guy and the founder of the Association for Mental Health in Mining, will be visiting Karratha for a free sundowner on November 18.

The aim of this free event is to bring together the mental health community in Karratha, connecting them to the speakers and solutions they need to improve the mental and emotional health of their mining businesses.

The event will feature guest speaker and psychologist Lani Duckett, founder of Pilbara Psych and Assessment.

Ms Duckett is actively involved with Rio Tinto and their team and will share her insights and approach to mining mental health.

The sundowner will be held at the Hula Bar on Sharpe Avenue at 6pm.
