Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Whim Creek

Emergency crews are currently at the scene of a serious crash on North West Coastal Highway, at Sherlock, and have closed the road in both directions as they work to clear the area.

A car and motorcycle are reported to have collided on the highway near Mallina Road, about 10km out of Whim Creek towards Hedland, at about 10.30am this morning.

The motorcycle rider is believed to have suffered critical injuries in the crash, but the driver of the car was uninjured.

It is believed there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police, St John’s Ambulance and Department of Fire and Emergency Service volunteers are all in attendance.

The highway has been closed off in both directions since about 12pm.
