Nationals Party State Conference headed to Exmouth
Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack will join National Party delegates from across the country in Exmouth this weekend for the WA Nationals State Conference.
The three-day annual conference, which is the party’s primary policy meeting, is expected to bring more than 120 people to the coastal town including the WA party’s 10 parliamentary members and Federal MPs Mr McCormack, Agriculture Minister Bridget McKenzie and Resources Minister Matt Canavan.
It will be the party’s first State Conference in Exmouth and the northernmost location the event has ever been held in.
WA Nationals leader Mia Davies said motions passed at the conference would form the basis of party policy development and advocacy.
North West Central MLA Vince Catania, whose electorate includes Exmouth, said hosting the conference would be a boon for the town and wider Pilbara.
“We’re showcasing this region to some of the highest officeholders in the land, demonstrating the Ningaloo coast and Pilbara, which have natural and industrial assets rivalling the best in the nation,” he said.
Mr McCormack, who is also the Federal National Party leader, will travel to Onslow as well as Exmouth while in WA and said he was looking forward to meeting locals and learning about their visions for the future.
