Nickol Hawks continue unbeaten streak in West Pilbara Cricket Association’s T20 tournament
Round four of the West Pilbara Cricket Association’s T20 tournament saw Nickol Hawks maintain their winning run and remain undefeated this season.
The Hawks hosted Dampier Taverners 1 with the Taverners 1 batting first.
The Hawks made a good start with the ball to leave the Taverners 2-9 before Ben Lynn and James O’Brien rebuilt the Taverners’ innings as they went on to make 6-118 off their 20 overs.
The Taverners 1 started well with the ball and reduced the Hawks to 2-17.
Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Uzair built a strong partnership before Junaid Khan made 18 to ensure the Hawks got over the line.
The Pegs Creek Crabs hosted the Wickham Wallabies on Friday night with the Wallabies winning the toss and batting.
The Crabs kept the runs down early with some tight bowling and two early wickets before Steve Yalden lifted the run rate.
Some late hitting from Jason Mallon lifted the Wallabies to 5-111 off their 20 overs with Lachlan Seabrook the pick of the Crab’s bowlers.
The Crabs run chase was all about one batter with Lachlan Seabrook taking to the Wallabies bowlers scoring 87 off 36 balls with eight fours and seven sixes.
Crabs made the total with four wickets down and seven overs left. Kaid Kemp was the pick of the bowlers.
Dampier Taverners 2 hosted the Karratha Kats at Windy Ridge with the home team winning the toss and batting first.
Cam Gordon 17 and Josh Vernon 24 made a fast start for Dampier but once the Kats removed both openers they were able to keep the pressure on.
No other batsman made double figures as the Taverners 2 were bowled out for 82, with Aaron Holben the best of the Kats bowlers.
Brayden Lee and Cameron Nowotny made light work of the chase making the total in the 10th over.
Rec Club hosted the Baynton Lions with the Lions being sent into bat first.
After a quick wicket Amol Virkar and Vipan Rajput put on 87 together before Rec Club were able to remove them.
Rec Club were then able to slow the run rate by taking a few wickets as the Lions ended on 6-111 off their 20 overs with Andrew Cohen the pick of the Rec Club bowlers.
The Rec Club chase started slowly with the loss of two wickets before Matt Michael and Brendan Kuiper put on 66 runs as Rec Club chased the target down with two overs to go.
Yogesh Singh was the best of the Lions bowlers.
