Pegs Creeks down Karratha Falcons in round two of West Pilbara Cricket Association Women’s T20 competition

The Pegs Creeks winning ways continued in round two of the West Pilbara Cricket Association Women’s 20 over competition when they downed the Falcons by 24 runs. Pegs batted first at Bulgarra Oval last Tuesday OCT26 and got off to a nervous start when opener Nicole Derr was dismissed for five runs. Jessica Creighton joined Kassie Patterson in the middle and the two went about building a 72 run partnership before Creighton was dismissed for 33 runs, with the crabs on 2-93. Patterson continued to guide her side to a large total finishing not out on 56 from 44 deliveries with the Crabs reaching 3-135 from their 20 overs. The Falcons got off to a slow start in reply slipping to 2-5 before Emily Bowden continued her impressive form with a dominant 62 runs to give Falcons a chance. Unfortunately it was not enough with the side falling 24 runs short to finish on 6-111. Bowden was the top scorer for the Falcons while Patterson starred with the ball for the Crabs taking 2-15 off of four overs. In the other round two game Karratha Kats defeated Dampier Taverners by forfeit. After two rounds the Crabs are the only undefeated team sitting four points clear of Karratha Falcons while the Kats sit in third ahead of the Dampier Taverners.
