Pindan awarded for Dampier Community Hub
WA construction company Pindan has received a top gong for its work on the Dampier Community Hub at the Kimberley-Pilbara Master Builders Bankwest Building Excellence Awards.
At the presentation at Zanders Restaurant in Broome on Saturday, May 6, Pindan came out on top in the best commercial alterations, additions and restorations over $6.5 million category for the community hub project.
Pindan Contracting managing director Tony Gerber said the award was the result of Pindan’s long-standing commitment to the Pilbara and the company’s presence in the region over many years.
“Receiving this accolade confirms the trust regional and remote communities have in Pindan to deliver projects of the highest quality,” he said.
Dampier Community Association president Georgia Evans said the hub had become the heart of the Dampier community. The Dampier Community Hub has enabled the co-location of important community services such as medical, library, childcare, local government and the Dampier Community Association, as well as several community groups who regularly use the multi-purpose rooms,” she said.
Pindan was contracted by the City of Karratha to carry out the works on the Dampier Community Hub project, which was completed in September.
The hub includes an early learning centre, a public library, a cafe kiosk and a multi-purpose centre, as well as the refurbishment of the existing community hall.
