Paraburdoo raised more than $7000 for the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon campaign with a series of events throughout the month of October.

Local ladies Anna Oakley, Kim Sheather and Sue-Anne Halliday co-ordinated four “Pinktober” events including a Pink Ribbon cake stall and Little Ladies lemonade stand, Wear Pink Day, decorate a bra competition and the very popular Pink Ribbon Dinner.

Ms Oakley said this year’s Pinktober events and the Pink Ribbon Dinner were a huge success. “We raised significant funds for the Cancer Council as well as created a greater awareness of women’s cancers,” she said.

“We also raised a record $7000 for the Pink Ribbon fundraising program, making Paraburdoo one of the top 10 towns in rural and remote WA for Pink Ribbon fundraising.”
