The Shire of Exmouth have re-opened Town Beach and McLeod Beach following the sighting of a two-metre long crocodile in the Exmouth Marina.

The shire said they had a confirmed sighting of the crocodile on Thursday morning and were working with Parks and Wildlife Service rangers to patrol the area.

Parks and Wildlife Service rangers deployed a crocodile trap in the Exmouth Marina on Sunday October 6 and continue to monitor the area.

People are being urged to exercise caution around previously closed beaches.

Any sightings should be reported to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions Parks and Wildlife Service in Exmouth on (08) 9947 8000
