A big high-school recruitment drive is coming to the Pilbara in an effort to attract more students from the region.

Methodist Ladies College has announced that it will attend the 51st FeNaClNG festival in Karratha. The Perth private school will have a pavilion where prospective students can meet MLC staff including the director of boarding Jodie Mellor.

Ms Mellor said it was important for the school to travel to regional locations and understand the types of educational opportunities parents want for their children.

“What I enjoy most about travelling to regional WA is getting the chance to have meaningful conversations and hear firsthand what families look for when choosing the best school for their daughter,” she said.

“The MLC boarding house is a home away from home for our girls, who come from the far reaches of Western Australia and across the globe.”

The MLC boarding program has capacity for 90 students between Years 6 to 12 and currently has student from the Pilbara in its cohort.

MLC alumni who now live in the Pilbara are being encouraged to attend the event.
