The Tequiras have downed the Karratha Kats after two periods of overtime to claim the Karratha Netball Association flag in an all-time classic.

Kats went into the final on September 17 as the favourites having won all 15 of their games this season while Tequiras had won eight of 15.

In an action-packed game, Karratha Kats looked strong early securing a 9-6 lead at the end of quarter-time.

Tequiras refused to back down, taking the lead in the second term with five minutes to go to lead 17-15 at half-time.

The arm-wrestle continued as both sides tussled for the lead. However, Kats were able to show their class and lead by just one point at the final break, 24-23.

Scores were level at the final buzzer causing the game to go into extra time.

The two sides were unable to be separated throughout the period and a second lot of extra time was allocated.

In the end, Tequiras’ endurance proved the difference, claiming the win by one point 35-34.

It was an all Kats’ grand final in division 2 with both sides battling for the lead in a hotly contested game.

Kats Blue led Kats White at half-time, 18-13, and continued their dominance throughout the second half to win the premiership by eight points 40-32.

In division 3 action, Kats White faced off against their intraclub rivals Karratha Blue in an action-packed game with Kats Blue edging out their rivals 36-34.
