The Outlaws are the Karratha Basketball Association minor premiers after dominating Cyclone Development in the final round of the regular season. Outlaws needed to win to secure top spot when they took on Cyclones at Karratha Leisureplex last Friday night. The table-toppers got off to a fast start, holding a five-point lead after four minutes before Cyclones closed the gap midway through the first half. Outlaws found another gear, netting 10 unanswered points to take a dominant lead going into the second half. A second half blitz saw the Outlaws sink 38 points to decimate Cyclone Development, with the final score 63-43. Outlaws’ Joel Lekias scored 21 points, while Stirling Tui-Tawake Cagilaba scored 13 points for Cyclone Development. Outlaws will play fourth-placed Northern Spirit Bala Boys on March 11. In the other division one games, Northern Spirit Bala Boys downed Flames Grey 42-3 and Flames Black extinguished Mayuga Majik 58-27. Pardoo Katz defeated Northern Spirit Suns 38-28 and Trouts White took down Trouts Blue 28-27. In division two action, Northern Spirit Saints toppled the Roebourne Titans 30-25, Thirsty Trouts downed Wildcats-Men’s D2 43-20 and Roebourne Villagers overran Flames 2 Black 41-28. In division three, Redbacks crushed Flames 3 Black 25-11, Wildcats-Men’s D3 beat Trouts 42-13 and Misfits beat Flames Orange 34-24. It was a night of close games in women’s division one, with Flames 1 Black edging Flames 1 Grey 26-25 and Northern Spirit Lynx beat Trouts White 35-21. In division two, Cyclone Development crushed Flames 2 Black 40-23 while Northern Spirit Queens beat Majik 35-29. In division three, Flames 3 Orange beat Wildcats-Women’s D3 47-15 and Swish Swish Bish took down Northern Spirit Heat 21-12.
