Voting opens for Best of Karratha awards
The hunt is on for the best of local business in Karratha with voting now open for the annual Best of Karratha Awards.
Now in its 10th year, the Spirit Karratha-run competition gives community members the chance to have their say on the best offerings from businesses by putting nominations to a public vote.
This year the competition attracted an above-average number of 378 entries, with best small to medium business (67 nominations) and best customer service (63 nominations) the most popular among the 21 categories.
Other titles in contention include the newly separate categories of best restaurant, best pub/bar/tavern, best hairdresser and best beauty salon, as well as old favourites including best community group, automotive service and coffee.
Spirit Karratha sales executive and competition organiser Laura Poole said the awards encouraged Karratha community members to recognise the achievements of local businesses.
“It gets business owners excited about the potential to win the title of who is best, promotes businesses in a positive way and creates a little bit of friendly rivalry as well,” she said.
“Voting is all about supporting a local business and promoting community spirit to keep the town ticking away.”
People can vote on a tablet inside any sponsor store or online at the Spirit Radio or Red FM websites.
Voting closes on August 28.
