Wickham community rallies behind local father and passionate community member Beau Tann with GoFundMe page

Family friends of a Wickham man diagnosed with cancer have rallied around the loving husband and doting father of two as he faces the uphill battle ahead. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Beau Tann who was diagnosed about two weeks ago with an aggressive cancer which has spread to his liver, stomach, abdomen, groin and bloodstream. Mr Tann has undergone surgery to remove a tumour from his bowel and the fundraiser, set up by family friend and City of Karratha deputy mayor Kelly Nunn, will raise money for further treatments and therapies. “Beau and Emma have done so much for this community ... they’ve been really invested in this town,” Cr Nunn said. “Beau’s really invested in sports for our kids in this community, he’s been a footy coach, a basketball coach, boxing coach and he’s helped out with junior cricket. “We set up the GoFundMe page to just provide them with some extra support as they’re going through all of their treatment options and they’ve had to relocate down south for the time being to work through treatments.” Cr Nunn said the wider community had been supportive with donations. “It’s just given them a little bit of room to breathe,” she said. “(The family) are really amazed and really grateful for everyone’s contributions. “They just want everyone to know it’s given them some hope.” The page has raised more than $56,000 of the $65,000 goal as of November 12.
