The Wickham and wider community will once again rally around well-loved community member Beau Tann as he continues to fight a serious cancer challenge.

The Wickham Boxing Club and Karratha Raiders, where Mr Tann previously coached, have organised a charity sparring event on December 11 to raise money for his treatment.

Eight Muay Thai fighters from the mixed martial arts club Primal will also participate in an exhibition match.

Mr Tann was diagnosed early last month with an aggressive cancer which has spread to his liver, stomach, abdomen, groin and bloodstream.

Event organiser Shane McDonald said it was a chance to give back for everything Mr Tann had done for the community.

“He’s just always helped the community, I think he’s been around for about 10 years up here and he’s always been a part of everything including boxing, AFL,” he said.

“He’s just one of those guys that gives and when something like this happens, everyone was pretty happy to put their hands up.”

Mr McDonald said everyone was invited to come along.

All funds raised will go towards a GoFundMe page set up by family friend and City of Karratha deputy mayor Kelly Nunn which had raised more than $70,000 of the $75,000 goal as of December 2.
