Bikes back on the track

The bikes are back on the track for 2016, with Karratha Motocross track hosting their first event for the year.

Plenty of new faces graced the field as more than 30 riders from Karratha, Port Hedland and Wickham came out to kick up some dirt.

Ryan Odiam won the pro open category after a few years off the track.

He was followed up by Ethan Burmaz in second and Regen McWhirter in third place.

Among the old dogs, James McKenna scooped the veterans’ category, with John Van Maanew and Matt Maxwell rounding out the top three.

Several junior classes combined on the field; with the 65cc seven to under 10’s age group being hotly contested between Kai Pratt and Jordan Dick.

Jye Tomerini won the 10 to under 12’s category on the same track, followed up by Amali Scobie and Archie Freegard.

The next race at the Karratha motocross track will be the Karratha Challenge on April 24.
