Calendar gives a glimpse of station life

Koordarrie Station on the Exmouth Gulf near Onslow will find its one month of fame next year when those who purchase the 2017 Elders calendar flick the page over to November.

While on the station, WA livestock contractor Courtney Robinson captured two images, which have made their way into the national calendar.

One, titled Flaming Galah, is on the front cover while the other, named Into the Evening, takes up the November slot.

Ms Robinson said her partner spotted the opportunity for what would become the front cover of the calendar and quickly told her it would be a great shot.

“He was right,” she said.

“Elders always has a great representation of true Aussie photos, and I wanted to be part of it.”

Taken on Koordarrie Station, Pilbara, Robinson’s partner spotted the photo opportunity with the galahs and told her it would be a great one, and “he was right,” she said.

Into the Evening portrays the relationship between their dogs and what they do, and was taken after they had educated a mob of sheep and led them to water in the paddock.

Elders marketing manager Yasmiin Phillips said she was pleased with the quality of entrants.

“The calendar highlights Australia’s diversity ... providing a platform to showcase beautiful photos of regional and rural Australia, while thanking our clients for their continued support, is so important to us,” she said.

The calendar is now available in all Elders branches.
