A Karratha dance school has won a spate of awards at a national dance competition, taking home more than 26 trophies, including overall best studio.

Synergy Dance Company competed in the Dance Kids’ Artistic Revue event in Perth on October 17, along with 15 other schools.

They took out first place in all 26 dance performances they competed in and were the most-awarded dance studio in the competition.

Several lucky students from the company also won scholarships or invitations to perform in New York, LA and Las Vegas.

The company, which is in its second year, has gone from strength to strength.

The revue is the second competition it has entered and founder and teacher Jessie Krieg is delighted with the success.

“We’ve had incredible dedication and commitment from the team members and parents and I guess it’s all very well-deserved, ” she said.

The school in a one-woman effort by Ms Krieg, who uses her professional dance background to teach classes in all types of dance.

Of her students, the youngest of whom is only 3 years old, Ms Krieg said she “couldn’t be prouder”.
