Flyers and the Tropics dig deep for victory

Round three of the Karratha Basketball Association competition saw plenty of close games on show last Thursday night.

The women’s B-grade saw games where the final margin was never separated by more than 5 points.

Flyers Red soared to the top of the table after grinding out a four point victory over the Tigers 22-18.

Time Out put the freeze on the Crusaders with a 23-18 score line.

Murujuga Yirratharnangga had the goods to get a 24-21 win over the Sinners, while the Beavers chewed through the Raiders B defence to finish 25-20.

In the women’s A-grade the Flyers excelled with a massive 23-point victory over the Falcons.

The 33-10 victory for the Flyers further cemented their early lead on the ladder board with the team yet to drop a game.

The men’s A-grade also saw some tough games as the Tropics beat the Kangas 24-18.

The Pilbara Pacers couldn’t get on top of the Heat, who managed to run away with a 10-point difference at 27-17.

The Coral Trouts floundered under pressure from the Thunder, who got their first win of the season 26-20.

Mayuga Majik led the A-grade competition after three, undefeated rounds as they picked up the points for the bye last week.

The men’s B-grade saw some of the highest scoring games of the week as the Flakers soundly beat the Thunder with a huge 38-19 win.
