Beats in the Heat has revealed its full line-up, with prolific Australian rock legends Regurgitator and homegrown hero Shockone, announced as the last two acts to play at the all-ages Karratha music festival.

The line-up on August 8 boasts a colourful array of Australian artists, from uplifting lyrical rappers Illy, Allday and Scribe to the intelligent smorgasbord of electronic producers Safia, Paces and Tom Piper.

Spread across two massive stages at the Karratha Leisureplex, the musicians will also be joined by former Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson, and the crazy stage antics and power of Regurgitator.

Festival director Bart Parsons said Beats in the Heat promised to fire up the North West with a day of diverse, exciting and cutting-edge acts aimed at every age group.

“This festival aims to be different from the get-go, setting new standards for all-ages music events in WA,” he said.

“We’ll deliver an exciting array of sound, lighting and robotic aesthetics to please all of your senses for the entire duration of the event.

“The main stage will be an 18-plus crowd only, hosting a fully licensed bar with an exclusive VIP area, featuring a private bar, toilets, furniture with illuminated touches, and the under-18s will be able to view the main stage from the purpose-built raised platform and screens around the venue.”

Under-18s must be accompanied into the venue by a guardian.

Mr Parsons said the crew behind Beats in the Heat would be hosting a series of launch parties during the lead-up to the event.

“They will feature DJ sets from a variety of artists from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth-based artists on the Beats in The Heat line-up, as well as a few Beats in the Heat Festival Ticket giveaways,” he said.

“To kick things off our first launch party will be held in Karratha on July 4, featuring two Ministry of Sound DJs in Dixie and Komes.”

General admission tickets for Beats in the Heat are selling for $109, VIP tickets cost $199 and camping costs $19, from the Beats in the Heat Facebook page and website www.beatsintheheat. com.au.

Premium accommodation packages are now available through the ibis Styles Hotel.
