A little slice of the usually hot and humid township of Paraburdoo will be transformed into a glamorous ‘Winter Wonderland’, when town comes together to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Paraburdoo Primary School.

Paraburdoo’s Red Dirt Rocks Committee is hosting the annual Paraburdoo Grande Ball on Saturday August 15 in the Shire Hall.

More than 350 people are expected to turn out for the glitzy event, which last year raised almost $20,000 for the RFDS and three other Paraburdoo community groups.

President of the Paraburdoo Red Dirt Rocks Committee Brett Sharpe said the event was now one of the largest fundraising events in the town.

“The Ball is a mainstay on the Paraburdoo calendar and has become a highly anticipated event- tickets for the 2014 event sold out within a couple of days,” he said.

“This year we will be creating a ‘Winter Wonderland’ scene, which, when combined with great live entertainment, delectable food, a luscious line-up of refreshments, raffles and lucky door prizes, will create the backdrop to an amazing night out for everyone.

“It will be great have a chance for the community to get dressed up in their finery, enjoy a great evening and importantly raise much needed funds for our benefactors.”

Mr Sharpe encouraged locals to come dressed to impress.

There will be a prize for the “best dressed”.

Tickets for the Paraburdoo Grande Ball are on sale now at www.trybooking.com/IGMA .
