Have a say on retail
Residents have almost a week left to have their say on the state of retail in the Pilbara.
The Pilbara Retail/Franchise Attraction Survey is being run by four Pilbara councils — the City of Karratha and Shires of Ashburton, Port Hedland, East Pilbara — to collect public feedback on the gaps in the region’s retail sector and how they can be addressed.
The brief survey asks questions such as which types of businesses residents would like more of and how much online shopping they do.
Retail is considered to be an emerging industry in the Pilbara in the wake of the mining boom and a way to boost the regional economy through local job creation and spending.
Response to the survey can be submitted until Monday, October 17. To complete it online, go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/pilbararetail.
