A final tally has come in for funds raised from Karratha Police's first Australia versus the Rest of the World cricket match on January 29 at Windy Ridge Oval in Dampier.

The match raised $3050 for the Ryan Marron Foundation, which supports a police officer who was relieving at Halls Creek when he was struck with Murray Valley encephalitis, which left him with a brain injury.

The event's organiser, former police officer Nathaniel Kett, said the concept for the match had started as a casual hit between stations before multiple units and other out-stations jumped on board, prompting a much bigger event.

"We had an Australian team and a Rest of the World team, which was picked on heritage," he said. "The Australians won the toss and batted first, making 6-184, while the Rest of the World went out confident but were unfortunately bowled all out for 52."

Australia side captain Mark Stevenson was named the man of the match after scoring solidly and taking a couple of wickets.

Kett said there were hopes the game would become an annual event and there was the potential for other businesses or organisations to get involved or challenge the police to a friendly game of charity cricket.

Kett also thanked Worksense, which discounted the team clothing, Rawhire, which provided a community bus, Keyspot for supplying the trophy, JG Graphix and the Police Union.
