Parents had the perfect excuse to get children off the computer and into more social interaction when Karratha library held a free sausage sizzle last Wednesday for Youth Week.

Library staff cooked delicious sausages and gave out icy poles for children and their parents and friends to enjoy together in their covered courtyard area.

It accompanied the giant Connect and Jenga games the library has gotten especially for Youth Week, along with a large number of classic board games including Monopoly, Battleship, Pictionary, Uno, and the surprisingly popular Pick-Up Sticks.

Puzzles, colouring-in, and X-Box gaming were also all on offer.

The library only had the giant games on loan for Youth Week, but may make them a regular fixture of school holiday activities in the future.
