Late shot earns draw

There is now less than a month until the Karratha Basketball Association finals, and the competition was suitably fierce last Thursday night.

In men's A grade, #Yogetit redeemed themselves after last week's loss to Pardoo Katz with a thrilling effort in their top-two match against Mayuga Majik.

Several points behind for most of the game, #Yogetit fought back in the last five minutes but were matched by Mayuga at every turn.

But three points down with just 30 seconds left on the clock, #Yogetit's Pablo Newton Farley netted a great three-pointer from the sideline to give his team a draw against the top team.

The Coral Trouts beat Pardoo Katz, who struggled to score.

In men's B grade, the top-versus-bottom of the ladder match-up of the Thunder and Flakers did not turn into the thrashing many expected, thanks to some accurate scoring from Flakers.

Meanwhile, current second and third teams Vipers and Cardinals were point-for-point until Vipers' Chris McAllister slotted in a three-pointer on the half-time siren.

The Vipers built on that lead in the second half to log a 10-point win against their closest rivals.

Cyclones Men upset the Roebourne Warriors with a last- minute one-point win.

In the women's league, top team Just Us, fresh from a break after a bye last week, had a close call against a terrific Hello Trouts.

They won by only one point.

Timeout failed to replicate their strong form from last week and lost to the Beavers, and Pegy Flyers won a tense game against Cyclones Women.
