Lighthouse Girl to shine on Red Earth

Sophia ConstantinePilbara News

Karratha’s new Red Earth Arts Precinct will play host to the Black Swan Theatre Company’s spectacular performance of The Lighthouse Girl on May 3.

The Lighthouse Girl is a WA Anzac story that has been adapted by writer Hellie Turner from the novels Lighthouse Girl and Light Horse Boy by Albany author Dianne Wolfer.

The production tells the story of a young girl’s courageous drive to support the war effort.

The production in Karratha is part of Black Swan’s regional WA tour, which will provide seven regional audiences the chance to engage with a homegrown performance.

The show had a sell-out premiere at Albany Entertainment Centre and performances in Perth in 2017.

Tickets for the performance, which will take place on Thursday, May 3, at 7.30pm, can be purchased by contacting the City of Karratha on 9186 8555.

A free Red Earth Arts Precinct community open day welcomes all community members ahead of the performance on April 28.
