Man charged with child sex offences

A Pilbara man charged with a series of child sex offences appeared before court last week.

The accused faced Karratha Magistrate’s Court via video link on 10 charges that include possessing and distributing child exploitation material and using electronic communication to expose under-16s to indecent matter and procure them for sexual activity.

The police prosecutor said there could be further charges of a similar nature laid in recent weeks after officers finish working through a “high volume” of restricted photos and messages discovered.

The alleged offender has been remanded in custody until his next court date.
