Man charged with child sex offences

A 22-year-old Paraburdoo man will appear before Rockingham Magistrate’s Court today charged with a number of child sex offences.

West Pilbara Detectives and Child Abuse Squad Detectives in Perth searched properties in Paraburdoo and Safety Bay the man resided in on February 19 this year.

They allege analysis of electronic storage devices seized during the searches revealed more than 1.2 million images.

The images allegedly show the man was involved in committing offences against three juveniles.

2,300 images and 10 videos allegedly depict children aged between six months and 16 years and have been classified as child exploitation material.

The man has been charged with offences including sexual penetration of a child over 13 years and under 16 years, indecent dealing with a child over 13 years and under 16 years, using an optical surveillance device and possessing child exploitation material.
