Trips to Karratha Airport will now take a little longer after Main Roads signed off on reducing the 80km/h speed limit on the first 800m of Bayly Avenue at the end of last year.

The road is now restricted to 60km/h for all vehicles.

The road can be used by restricted access vehicles which deliver bulk aviation fuel.

The Shire of Roebourne requested Main Roads approve the inclusion of Bayly Avenue as part of the RAV network and the speed limit on the road be reduced to give the road some uniformity, given the maximum speed for RAV vehicles on the road would be 60km/h.
