The Onslow Sports Club is calling on new residents and fly-in, fly-out contractors to join the organisation, which has established itself as a friendly community hub over the years.

President Jack Lockie said creating and promoting a culture that attracted new members, families, juniors and volunteers was a key focus for the club.

"The 150-strong membership base continued to grow as the club expanded its service offering," he said.

"The club also has a number of new drawcards, including new outdoor facilities, and is set to introduce a member's lottery, jackpotting up to $500.

"We're also proud to be named as one of the sponsors for the Passion of the Pilbara 2015, which will be a great place for families in Onslow to enjoy all of the fun and fanfare at this iconic local event."

Club vice-president Bruce Strahan said at the heart of the club was an interest in being active and social.

"We have regular sporting fixtures, with darts and lawn bowls proving popular on Thursday nights, badminton and social football on different nights throughout the week," he said.

"The club rooms are available to hire for private functions and we host popular events and entertainment from bands and comedians to bush poets.

"We're keen to invite any new residents or contractors in Onslow to come down to the club."
