Pilbara Ports Authority records four per cent increase in throughput for Dampier and Port Hedland ports

The Pilbara Ports Authority has recorded a four per cent increase in throughput while imports for both Dampier and Port Hedland have dropped.

The total monthly throughput recorded for the Pilbara Ports Authority in November was 59.9 million tonnes which was a four per cent increase compared to November 2020.

Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 43.9Mt, of which 43.4Mt was iron ore exports.

This was a five per cent increase to total throughput compared to last November while Dampier recorded a total throughput of 15.1Mt, a four per cent increase from November 2020.

Meanwhile November imports dropped for both facilities with Port Hedland totalling 167,000 tonnes, a decrease of 10 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Dampier reported 111,000 tonnes or a decrease of 17 per cent from November 2020.
