Pirates edge out Barracudas

It was another exciting round of water polo at Karratha Leisureplex last Wednesday.

In the women's competition, the Pirates defeated Barracudas 9-8 in what was a closely contested match.

The highest goal scorer was Alex Dobbin, scoring three goals for the Barracudas.

Best and fairest nominations went to Dobbin, followed by Pirates' Anna Norton and Barracudas' Sarah Stinton.

The Pirates men's team also came out with a win, demolishing the Krackens 13-1.

For a third week in a row, Justin Angove was the top goal scorer, finishing with five goals for the Pirates.

Best and fairest nominations went to Krackens' Paul Richardson, followed by Richard Clarke and Aaron Day from the Pirates.

In the second men's game, the Barracudas doubled the Krackens' score, 8-4.

Highest goal scorer was Barracudas' Rhys Knight with three goals.

Barracudas players Dean Murray and Nigel Kroonstuiver were named best and fairest, as was Krackens' Levi Harris.
