President change-over for Rotary

Pilbara News

Karratha Rotary Club has had a changing of the guard, electing its second female president at a time of significant change for the non-profit group.

Jade Saligari has taken over the presidency from Rob Sleator at an exciting time for the club, with several big projects in the works and a rebranding of Rotary International having taken place this year.

“There are a few exciting ventures coming up, such as the men’s shed and organising a Christmas pageant with LandCorp, so I am lucky I can come in as president and help grow that, ” Ms Saligari said.

“I would like to grow the club, but what is more important is keeping the dynamic we have as a team together.

“I think we do a really great job, so I can only imagine how much more we could do if there were more of us.”

Ms Saligari said new members were welcome at the club’s Monday meetings, which were held at the Ibis from 6.45pm.

Mr Sleator said he believed Ms Saligari’s enthusiasm was a big plus for the club.

He said highlights of his tenure had included continuing the salt bagging, charity auctions and helping some of the other local clubs in the community.
