Wickham hosted the North West Motorcycle Association's fourth round of racing over the weekend.

About 100 riders journeyed from Carnarvon, Exmouth, Broome, Tom Price, Newman, Paraburdoo and Karratha to take part.

Wickham Roebourne and Point Samson Motocross Club president Jason Christie said despite being a small club, it had a good level of representation in the competition.

The bright, sunny weekend provided perfect riding conditions, with a bit of moisture in the track keeping the dust down.

Christie said local volunteers and helpers from other clubs were a big part in making the weekend a success, as well as companies such as Rio Tinto, which provided a water truck to help with dust control.

St John Ambulance volunteers treated their fair share of scrapes and bruises.

Christie hopes there will be just as big a turnout at the club's annual event, the Pindan Dash.

Pencilled in for late next month, the event will have about $10,000 to $15,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs as well as a big trophy.

Christie said Robbo Lovett had won the last few Dashes and it would take some good racing to take his crown.

The next North West Motorcycle Association round will be in Broome on July 4 and 5.
