Sinners fall to Falcons in round 2 softball
Despite being beaten by the Falcons 20-6, the Sinners (2) showed definite signs of improvement in round 2 of the West Pilbara Softball Organisation’s season.
Being a team of entirely new players, the Sinners (2) put in a good effort on the field and getting six runners across the plate over on diamond two.
Amy Dyer as shortstop made some good outs for the Sinners (2) and Kelly Anderson and Dezi Koroheke gaining confidence on the pitcher’s plate.
All the Sinners (2) girls had a hit with the bat, however, a lot of aggressive base running saw the Falcons win the game.
On diamond one, the Geckos were defeated by Storm, 16-3.
The Geckos were confident with the bat but it wasn’t enough to beat Storm who were strong fielders.
Storm’s new player Piri Dargaville came in to pitch late in the game to shut it out and Courtney Bushby played a great game as catcher despite never having played the position.
Geckos’ star batter Nicole Derr continued her run rally, hitting her forth home run for the season.
The 7:45pm game saw the Sinners (1) go down to the Orbits, 16-4.
Despite a knee injury, Mereana Joseph starred as pitcher for the Orbits.
The Sinners (1) player Ash Tiller batted well for the team while Claire Moran stole her way around the diamond.
For the second week in a row, the Orbits proved to be a strong batting side with Sharelle Clarke bringing the runs in with some aggressive base running.
